In the book, The Outsiders by S.E. Hilton, Pony boy is a 14 year old innocent greaser who has brothers named Darry and Soda pop. In the beginning, Pony Boy Curtis got good grades and had a high IQ. Also, Pony boy is shy. In the end Pony boy changed a lot, he witnessed deaths of Johnny from the Socs and Bob Sheldon from the greasers he also becomes courage

This shows how Pony boy says how he is more focused on school than staying in the streets.

While walking home, Pony boy gets followed by a couple of Socs who threaten to kill him.
In the end, Pony boy faced tramatic stuff, for example, the killings of Johnny and Bob Shelton and he saved children from burning churches

bIn conclusion, Pony boy has changed from being innocent and shy to being courageous. In the begining, Pony Boy was one of the shy greasers and he was more focused on his education than the streets. In the end, Pony Boy turned courageous, he went inside a burning church to save children and he stood up to The socs.
