Once they are gone Proctor becomes very angry with Hale for not helping his wife. Hale asks for the men to be calm and think about what is happening and then leaves.
Proctor asks for Giles and Francis to leave and they agree to come back tomorrow to speak on it.
Proctor tells Marry that they will go to court the next day to testify and set his wife free. Mary may be charged with witchcraft and Proctor may be charged with lechery. Proctor is set on going and Marry continues to resist by saying she cannot.
