  • After all the umuyyads were dead, the king abd al-rahman 111 to Spain in the city of Cordoba. The city of Cordoba was the greatest city in the world. It has a huge library that contains 4000,000 books. It is a place where there is a lot of art, medicine,philosophy, and science. 
  • Mughals
  • Daily life in the ottoman empire was different from our daily life. Women had more restricted lives than men. The women were wealthy and they promoted the arts, architecture and many other things. Suleyman 1 was the magnificent. He ruled the ottoman empire and had a powerful army that helped him conquer many portions of northern Africa and eastern Europe. 
  • Science and philosophy
  • The Safavid's were enemies of the Sunni ottomans. The Safavid empire was ruled by a leader named Ismail that took the Persian title for king.The Safavid and ottomans went on to fight a long war that lasted way more than 100 years. They battled for Mesopotamia's fertile plains.They had a strong economy. 
  • Architecture, the arts, and literature
  • The mughals were nomads from central Asia who invaded India.The mughal leader was called Akbar the great swept out central Asia and conquered north and central Asia. Akbar the great was 13 years old and led Muslim India to a brilliant golden age.
  • The Muslim quest for knowledge helped make the form of medicine practiced in Muslim lands the most advanced in the world. The encyclopedia made by al-Zahrawi recommended treatments for illnesses. Many works helped spread the most advanced medical practices of the time throughout much of the world.
  • Buildings like mosques were displayed many architectural features that were developed from roman. The decoration inside a mosque was often elaborate, featuring elegant writing and abstract design.The patterns often repeat in a seemingly endless way. Muslim artists did not portray human figured or animals.
