In 1960, Ruby Bridges was six year old when she got escorted to and from school because she was the only African American person in a all white school in New Orleans. Adults and kids would yell at her,try to hurt her, make signs against her, etc.
Little Rock Nine
In 1960, the Greensboro sit-ins was a civil right protest. Young African Americans decided to start a sit-in at Woolworth's lunch counter and would not leave until served. The sit-ins began to spread all around college towns in the south.
I Have A Dream Speech
In December 1955, Rosa Parks was riding on the bus from a long day of work but she was sitting in the front. Blacks were not allowed to sit in the front and when all the seats ran out Rosa would not get up and move. Police were called to meet at the next bus stop where Rosa was arrested.

The Little Rock Nine was a group of nine African Americans, 6 girls and 3 boys. They went to a white school when they were prevented to enter the racially segregated high school. The soldiers had to escort them in and out of school.
