Soon after the bombs went off a man was shot in the back and killed. Patria thought it was her son but to her relief it was not. This is an awakening for Patria because she was terrified that she had lost her first son to revolution even though she did not.
Patria has a spiritual and physical awakening due to her child being born and the realization that she should begin helping the revolution. She begins helping by creating bombs and stockpiling ammunition.
