  • Exposition
  •  "Phillip, the enemy has finally attacked the island, and there will be no school today. But you must stay near home. Do you understand?"

  • In Willemstad, Phillip the protagonist, his mom and dad the side character are at war against the German.  It was February 1942, Phillip was home and woke up. Then his mother tells him "Phillip, the enemy has finally attacked the island, and there will be no school today. But you must stay near home. Do you understand"(page 10) Later in the story, they go on a boat and the boat crash.
  • Climax
  • When the boat crash, Phillip wakes up and to see Timothy. Phillip examines Timothy when he see him. Phillip doesn't like Timothy but, goes on a raft with him. 
  • Falling Action
  • When Phillip goes on a raft with Timothy and stew cat they make some small tent for Phillip face. Philip looks at the sun and then looks away. Then Phillip head hurts a lot so Phillip when to sleep. When Phillip woke up, he could not see. Phillip was blind.
  • Resolution 
  • In the cay, Phillip and Timothy made a hut. Then in 3 or 6 months later,  Phillip, and Timothy where in an hurricane eye. When the hurricane was over hut was gone and Timothy was dead.    
  • When Timothy died, Phillip now need to survive on his own. He rebuild the the hut, and gather food to eat. 1 month later, Phillip hear people near the island. Phillip yells help, and the people hear him. Phillip follows the people on to the boat.
  • When Phillip enter the boat, they went back to Phillip home. Phillip told them he was blind and told them how he got here. When Phillip got back home, his mom was crying. His mother and his father took Phillip to the hospital and they did x-rays on Phillip. Phillip had three operation on him, Phillip found out his nerves got damage. That why he could not see.
