  • The French and Indian war
  • In 1763, Britain won a long and costly war against France and was in large of a national debt. Also, the parliament saw the colonies as a source of much-needed money. 
  • The Acts 
  • These acts were made in 1763-1773, they were laws for the colonies. They also made the colonists give the parliament tax money  
  • The groups
  • There were independent voluntary groups that organized ways to resist the  British. The most significant group of them were called the committees of correspondence. The other two groups were the Sons and Daughters of Liberty.  
  • The protests
  • The first protest that happened on the year of 1770 is the Boston Masscre. That's when the British troop o;ened fire at a group of protesters. The second one is the Boston Tea Party is when the coloists tried to prevent the unloading of a cargo that was filled with tea and they ripped opened 342chests of tea and dumped them into the harbor.
  • The Revolutionary War
  • On April 19, 1775, There was fighting against Great Britain and the American Colonies. The Americans fired on the British and told them and made them go back to Boston. 
  • The Declaration of Indepence was made when the second continental congress when they decided to resist the British. They organized an army and made Goerge Washington leader. A year later they asked the comittee to draft a document explaning why the colonists felt it was necessary to be free of British rule and is now called the Declaration of Independence.
