  • They started fighting over the Ohio River Vally in 1754 when the French did not leave the area after being asked to
  • George Washington was the leader of this fight and controlled about 160 men going to fight Fort Duquesne, a fort that was once English but had been taken over by the French.
  • William Pitt is appointed Prime Minister.  He helps Britain win the war by committing whatever resources needed to the war and by funding Prussia to tie down French troops so that they would win.
  • Give us Canada and we will end the war.
  • Ok, you can have all of Canada and East of the Mississippi.
  • The British were defeated at the Battle of Fort Duquesne in 1755. This started the war and was the first battle in the French and Indian War.
  • The Battle of Quebec was one the most important fights of the war because it is the reason France surrendered and that the British won the war. The English won and it was a major victory for them.
  • The British got all of Canada and land East of the Mississippi as a treaty to end the war.
