The book A Father's Promise and the book Never Quit are alike in the fact that the main character has persistence. Rudy from the book A Father's Promise never gives up on his escape from the Nazis. In the book Never Quit, Jimmy settle never quits in his pursuit of his dream of becoming a P.J.
This is a man vs. nature and society. He will have to learn how to forage for food and cook. He must also escape the Nazis while they are looking for him.
In the book A Father's Promise, the beginning was one of the saddest parts of the book. The father of Rudy had told him he had to leave to survive. Rudy didn't want to but he listened to his father. He wouldn't see his father again for years.
