A portion of the Middle East was in a Cold War that began over conflicts between Qatar and Saudi Arabia. I will teach you of the many affects the conflict had on Qatar.
The first affect of this Cold War was on Qatar's relationship and involvement with other countries. A group of countries in the Middle East began a disagreement with Qatar. These countries consisted of Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain , and Egypt. The conflict even entangled the U.S. with Qatar and threatened to involve Turkey and Iran.
Another affect of this Cold War is it began to isolate Qatar. Qatar suspended all flights to Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia and its allies struck back by also cutting many ties and relations with Qatar. Eventually they even imposed a blockade locking out Qatar.
The next affect of this Cold War is it caused hate/ propaganda towards Qatar. Saudi Arabia and its allies spent millions on propaganda. Bahrain even made it illegal to publish Pro-Qatar information.
One more affect of this Cold War was on Qatar's economy. Qatar was very negatively affected. By this point all transportation to and from Qatar and Saudi Arabia/Its allying countries was cut off. They also ordered a lot of citizens to leave Qatar. Qatar even lost a relationship with Saudi Arabia that imported 40% of their food.
Finally one last affect of this Cold War was on Qatar's money/business. It caused a panic in business and money as Qatar was becoming isolated. Qatar was gas rich and made a lot of money of importing to these countries that they no longer could import to. It also didn't help that lots of workers had left Qatar.
