The Green Light symbolizes hope. This symbol is important to the chapter because it showed Nick a part of Gatsby and it displays Gatsby's want and hope of being able to be with Daisy again.
Chapter 4- Gatsby's yellow car
Myrtle symbolizes affairs. She is important to the chapter because it proves the fact of Tom cheating on Daisy.
Chapter 5- clock
Gatsby's parties symbolizes people's greed for and involvement in money and fun. It's important to the chapter because it shows how corrupt and careless the rich/ people were when it came to money and fun in the 1920's.
Chapter 6-Dan Cody's yacht
Gatsby's yellow car symbolizes Gatsby's immense wealth and his need to stand out amongst others so he can be noticed by Daisy. This is important to the chapter because it makes Gatsby stand out as an individual.
Nick's clock which Gatsby drops symbolizes time lost and destroyed. This is important to the chapter because it demonstrates the time Gatsby has lost with Daisy and his want to return to that time, but he can not.
Dan Cody's yacht symbolizes the beauty and glamour in the world. This is important to the chapter because it shows Gatsby's continuous desire and admiration of the lives of the wealthy.
