A few chapters later, we learn more about who Tom, Daisy, Nick, Gatsby, and more on who they are, and what they do. Nick goes to a couple parties and finds out Gatsby likes Daisy, they used to date but he 'deployed'. Nick learns about a lot of rumors that is spread about Gatsby and doesn't really know what to believe... CHAPTER IV. . .
Nick lists all of the people who attended the parties this summer, from the wealthy, the new rich, and the old rich...
Nick was invited to go to the cities with Gatsby, so they head out and rush through the Valley of Ashes. Gatsby gets pulled over for speeding, and Gatsby shows him this card, and the cop apologizes and leaves.. Nick is very confused on what just happened, but lets it blow past. They arrive at the restaurant they're going to eat at.
Nick, this is Mr. Wolfsheim, Meyer, this is Nick.
Gatsby introduces Nick to Meyer Wolfshiem, who, he claims, was responsible for fixing the 1919 World Series.
After lunch, Nick sees Jordan and starts talking to her... She talks about what Gatsby told her in her secret conversation with him. She says that he is in love with Daisy, and wants to talk to her, and needs Nicks help by inviting her to his house and he will go over there to talk.. Nick agrees, and lets it happen.
The next few chapters show the hypocritical standpoint between Daisy, Tom, and Gatsby. Daisy starts falling in love with Gatsby and they start getting close. Daisy and Gatsby start dating, and Tom is on the verge of finding out within these next few paragraphs. Later on, explosive stuff happens.
