One day Aphrodite (goddess of love and beauty) washed up with seafoam on the shore.
Then, Zeus graciously took Aphrodite in as one of his many daughters.
Later on, after Helen's wedding (half-sister) Aphrodite , Hera, and Athena were arguing over who was the fairest. So, Eris decided that whomever grabbed the golden apple from the table was the fairest.
All three of the goddess's screamed "mine!" Aphrodite screamed the loudest. The argument was not settled. So, Zeus decided that Paris, a prince, gets to pick the fairest.
But the wise Aphrodite made him a deal. If Paris declared her the fairest, she would make all of his brother's jealous of him and envy him.
So, Paris declared Aphrodite the fairest. Then, Aphrodite kept her promise and made all of Paris' brothers jealous of him.
