Carbon Project -Earth Science

Storyboard Description

The Carbon Cycle is when light from the sun travels down and goes into the Plants and Crops causing Photosynthesis. Photosynthesis is when light goes into the small pores of the plants leaves called Stomata then Carbon Dioxide goes into the plants pores as well, as this is happening Oxygen is coming out of the Plants as well. After this animals are breathing causing more Carbon Dioxide to go into the air this going to the Atmosphere. Along with when Fossil fuels are being formed as well. Life and death happens and when this happens the dead animals and plants act as nutrients to help the soil. We as people use Fossil fuels to help us with machines to help crops and etc. This is burning the fuel and is putting Carbon Dioxide into the Atmosphere once again.

Storyboard Text

  • Sun rays come into the leaves of the plant.
  • The pores of the plant are called Stomata.
  • Layers of sediment form at the bottom of the ocean. This then turning into sedimentary rocks. This is called rock formation. Then the rock types can either go through weathering and erosion. (Breaking up of rocks, physical or chemical)
  • Sugars
  • Protein
  • The fossil fuels then will go through people and be used. People would use fossil fuels to fuel their machines to plant crops.
  • Carbon going into the water.
  • Carbon dissolving into the Seawater. This creating Carbonic Acid.
  • The plants will go through a phase called Photosynthesis. Photosynthesis is when plants extract carbon dioxide from the air and use it in Photosynthesis to feed themselves. Carbon dioxide enters through the leaves of the plant through small pores called Stomata.
  • Atmosphere
  • Respiration is when plants convert the carbon in the atmosphere carbon dioxide into Carbon containing organic compounds. For example Sugars, fats, and proteins).
  • Fatty Foods
  • When carbon gets put into water it dissolves. Carbon reacts with sea water creating carbonic acid. When ever Carbon is burned it combines itself with Oxygen to make CO2.
  • Carbon being found in the Atmosphere, it is mostly found as Carbon Dioxide. Animal and plant respiration place carbon into the Atmosphere.
