  • The porcupine eats fruits and wood. Their predators are coyotes, cougars and bobcats. They tend to live in forests and deserts. 
  • 
  • The variation in this species is that some are bigger and some of them are smaller. The big ones tend to be darker as well. 
  • 
  • The population has split because the weather became quite chilling. They are beginning to migrate and then a big storm hits and they get split up. 
  • 
  • The more successful variation is the smaller one. This is because they can hide more easily from their predators. 
  • Speciation has now occurred and they will no longer mate.
