Storyboard Text

  • The Tell Tale Heart Lindsey Maddalena Mr. Haws CP English 5 26 October 2018
  • The author tells us about his murder of the old man while in jail.
  •  The narrator would see the old man's eye everyday. He was so deeply disturbed by his eye, and didn't want to see it anymore.
  • So he decided he would kill the old man in his sleep. "I made up my mind to take the life of the old man, and thus rid myself of the eye forever."
  • "Villains!" I shrieked, "dissemble no more! I admit the deed! --tear up the planks! here, here! --It is the beating of his hideous heart!"
  • Every night for seven days the narrator would sneak into the old man's room with a special made lantern.
  • Then on the eighth night he finally killed him because he could see his disturbing eye.
  •  "In an instant I dragged him to the floor, and pulled the heavy bed over him. I then smiled gaily, to find the deed so far done.
  • The police show up at the door because of a complaint. They start questioning him, they seem convinced the narrator didm't do anything wrong.
  • But then the narrator starts heart the sound of a beating  heart. Over and over again. It's starting to drive him mad
  • I keep hearing the old man's heart!
  • The beating of the heart continues and continues, driving him more crazy. Until he finally confesses to the murder.
  • The police take him away.
