  • Step 1 : Wash the body with good smelling wine and then rinse with water from the Nile River.
  • Next we cut the internal organs  because they are the first to decompose.
  • The heart is not taken out because the dead will need to use it for the after life
  • While the mummy is being wrapped the priest reads spells.
  • After forty days the body will be washed with water from the Nile River and covered with good smelling oil
  • The internal organs are taken out from the body and placed in canopic jars.
  • We (the embalmers) place amulets between the layers to protect through its way to the underworld
  • The head and neck are wrapped with strips of fine linen, the legs and arms are wrapped separately.
  • More linen straps are added to the body 
  • A cloth is wrapped around the body and a picture of Osiris is painted on the surface
