  • This is Rome. The picture represents one of the things Rome used back them which is the arch. This was built around 700 B.C.E., by a Latin tribe. Then they built huts and there was more living space.
  • The Etruscan Influence of Sports on the Romans
  • This is when a princess has a set of twin boys. There names were Romulus and Remus. Their uncle ordered them to be sent out to be put in a river to drown and die. Then, a wolf saw them and raised them as their own. Then when the boys got older they made a village together which is where Romulus killed Remus.
  • The Greek influence of Architecture on the Roman Civilization
  • These are columns! There are many different kinds of them too!!
  • The Romans were pretty advanced at building. They have different techniques that help them build. One of the structures the Romans built were arches, like the ones above. The arches rested on 2 pillars, which supported the arch. The arch was used for things like bridges, and stadiums.

  • The Romans sports games were violent. First slaves fought, then their masters would fight. There was also chariot racing. They would be strapped in the chariot and whip there horses to make them run faster. Both or these included injuries and sometimes death.
  • The Romans borrowed ideas of architecture from the Greeks and Etruscans. They made places to warship their gods, most of the places had columns. The Romans also used concrete, which helped build bigger buildings.
  • The Romans and Greek had similar alphabets, for example they both have capital letters. The Romans made a lot of art, for example pottery that was shaped into a lot of things. The Greeks worshiped many gods, for example the Romans had adapted Greek gods but just gave them Roman names.
