Hi. Im here to tell you about the cattle industry of Texas
First of all, they used to not have barbed wire so they had to brand there cattle to know wich is witch if the cattle got mixed in with other ranches cattle.
They used to have cattle drives from one place to another to sell them for more money. Cattle drives are were you move cattle from one place to another to sell them. one of the most famouse cattle drive trails is called the Chisolm Trail.
O No! Theve gone crazy
Sadly, railroads and barbed wire were the end of cattle drives. you used to just be able to take the cattle through the other farms ,but since the got barbed wire yuo would have to go all the way aroud the other farms and now you can just put you cattle on a train a ship them off. That was the end of cattle drives.
thank you for linsting to our lesson on cowboys and cattle drives. we had a great time telling you all about it.
Thats called a stampede. a stampede is a rush of frightend cows. Very bad for cattle drives.
