Storyboard Text

  • Friar Lawrence Sends Letter To Romeo
  • Friar John: I must go then. 
  • Friar Lawrence: Send this letter to Romeo in Mantua. It has important information in it so please hurry!
  • Juliet Drinks The Vial
  • The Nurse Finds Juliet Dead
  • Nurse:"She's dead, deceased, she's dead. Alack the day!"(Act 4, Scene 5, Line 23)
  • Friar Lawrence tells a fellow friend (Friar John) to send Romeo a letter with Juliet's fake death plan in it. Friar John leaves to send his letters.
  • Balthasar Tells Romeo About Juliet's Death
  • Balthasar:"Then she is well, and nothing can be ill. Her body sleeps in Capuls' monument....."(Act 5, Scene 1, Line 17-18)
  • Juliet is finally alone. Juliet holds the vial and contemplating whether or not to take it. In the end, Juliet drinks the vial.
  • Romeo & The Apothecary
  • Juliet:"Come, vial. What if this mixture do not work at all? Shall I be married then tomorrow morning? No, no. This shall forbid it. Lie thou there. What if it be a poison which the friar subtly hath ministered to have me dead...."(Act 4, Scene 3, Line 20-25)
  • Romeo:"Come hither, man. I see that you are poor. Hold, there is forty ducats. Let me have a dram of poison...."(Act 5, Scene 1, Line 60-62)
  • Juliet's body is now in a state where it seems she is dead. The Nurse comes in to wake her. Juliet doesn't wake up. The Nurse finds that Juliet is now dead. She cries out and Lord and Lady Capulet arrive. They see Juliet's lifeless body.
  • Friar John Fails To Deliver Friar Lawrence's Letter
  • Friar Lawrence:"Who bare my letter, then, to Romeo?(Act 5, Scene 2, Line 13)
  • A friend of Romeo (Balthasar) finds out of Juliet's sudden death. He hurries to Romeo to tell him the horrifying new.
  • Romeo:"How doth my lady? Is my father well? How fares my Juliet? That I ask again, for nothing can be ill if she be well."(Act 5, Scene 1, Line 14-16)
  • Romeo is devastated and decides that he will buy poison from a apothecary. He will then go to where Juliet lies dead and drink the poison.
  • Apothecary:"Put this in any liquid you will and drink it off; and, if you had the strength of twenty men, it would dispatch you straight." (Act 5, Scene 1, Line 79-81)
  • Friar John had been caught into a sudden situation which caused him to be unable to deliver Friar Lawrence's message to Romeo. Friar John arrives again to Verona to tell Friar Lawrence the news.
  • Friar John:"I could not send it - here it is again..."( Act 5, Scene 2, Line 14)
