Storyboard Text

  • Siddhartha Gautama was born a prince. His father never allowed him to leave there palace, he didn't want him to see the cruel actions of the world.
  • You can never leave this palace
  • But one day he sneaked away from his father. He couldn't believe his eyes when he saw an old person, he has never seen an old person. He saw a dead man, He never saw anyone dead before. And he saw a crying man, he had never seen anyone cry like that.
  • He decided to leave his family to find answers to the suffering that he had seen.
  • After he left his family he wondered for 6 years, he then wondered into a forest he cut his hair and changed into a robe for a period of meditation.
  • He then emerged from the forest with an awakened perspective of life. He changed his name to Buddha, which means the awakened one.
  • He then traveled around the world teaching people the enlightened way. Buddhas most basic ideas were the Four noble truths and the eight fold path. He believed that people are reincarnated until they reach of state of Nirvana. He also believed in the law of karma
