  • BATTLE OF SARATOGA- A TURNING POINT
  • Let's go guys
  • The British were making a plan quickly to end the war
  • British army started marching through New York
  • At first the war in New York and in Pennsylvania went very badly for the Continental Army. They lost major battles. Thomas Paine said, "These are the times that try men's souls."
  • The battle is near the end
  • The plan called for the British to bring large forcestogether in the New York. They want defeat the Americans by cutting off New England from the other colonies
  • The battle end the war
  • In the summer of 1777. The British army marching through New York and the Patriot forces met up. They don't know the armies Patriot army wait there.

  • The British soldiers were marching in straight lines. The American soldiers, on a other hand, used ways of fighting they learned from the Indians
  • When British came by, the Americans ran out, attacked, and ran back into hiding again.
  • In October 1777, The Continental Army overpowered them there. The battle of Saratoga stopped British plans to end the war quickly
