Siddhartha Guatama was born in the 6th century B.C. in Nepal. His father was the ruler of the Sakya people and was brought up as a prince.
Siddhartha married at the age of just 16. His life was going just how his father had planned. That was until one day 13 years later.
Siddhartha had finally left the palace walls and could not believe all the suffering. Siddhartha had no idea this was going on as he had been living inside the walls of the palace for the majority of his life
The next day, Siddhartha left his family at the age of 29 to lead an ascetic life and determine a way to relieve universal suffering.
For six years he followed different types of meditation but was never fully satisfied
One day a little girl offered a bowl of rice and he accepted it. In that moment he realised that physical austerities were not the means to achieve liberation
