Storyboard Text

  • Today i'm here to talk about Galvanic cells
  • Hola
  • Galvanic cells or voltaic cells, are electrochemical cells in which oxidation- reduction reations produce electrical energy.
  • Now you guys are wondering, what are galvanic cells, well let me explain.
  • They are 3 different combinations of metals in a galvanic cell: copper, lead, and zinc.
  • copper, lead, and zinc
  • When Zinc affects a galvanic cell, the atoms of the Zinc eletrode lose electrons and move into the solution as zinc ions.
  • Also, Electrons flow from the anode to the cathode through the external circiut.
  • During the charging process, the reactions of lead on each electrode are reversed: the anode becomes the cathode and vice versa.
  • As for copper, Cu 2+ ions acquire electrons at the copper electrode and form copper metal.
  • That all I needed to present to you guys, Fin.
