Storyboard Text
- Fight back Lennie!
- The two men George and Lennie discuss about the hope of coming to this new job opportunity. After their incident in Weed George tells Lennie what he should do if he ever gets into trouble again that he should come back to this spot and wait for George to arrive. To add on, Lennie as well apologizes for always being such a big responsibility for George and he says if he ever wants him to leave he'll leave him and go into a cave out in the forest.
- George and Lennie meet with the boss of the ranch to talk about their jobs and what they'll be doing for them. The boss questions why Lennie isn't talking and why it's only George. So he has to explain how he has a disability so it's harder for him to talk but he'll also be the best and strongest worker they have. Lastly to add on, they meet the bosses kid named Curley who is a jerk to the men because he is the bosses kid so he'll have backup for anything even if he is in the wrong.
- Curley picks a fight with Lennie for laughing at him. Curley sees this and begins punching Lennie with all his power possibly trying to kill him. Lennie is terrified as he backs into the corner scared until George yells at him to fight back. As soon as he does Lennie catches one of Curley's punches and squeezes his hand as hard as he can to break all the bones in it as well as making it gush out blood.
- Lennie was enjoying playing with his new puppy that was given to him by Slim because he was apparently the best worker they've had in a while. As he is playing with the dog he doesn't realize how strong he is and how weak the puppy is so he accidentally kills the puppy. After this he worries and thinks that he should hide the dog in the hay and say he found it like that. He is as well scared of George finding out because if he does he won't be able to tend to the rabbits still.
- Lennie sits in the barn sobbing is eyes out because he knows he messed everything up. First the puppy and now Curley's wife. Now everyone that works with them will be after him and not only to put him in jail, but to probably have him tortured and killed. Lennie knows that there is only one option to do and that is to run and get to the spot by the river where the story first began and to wait for George to make everything safe again.
- Lennie waits for George to come find him and once he does he says everything is alright, but in reality George has Carlson's luger knowing he will have to kill him. George begins talking about how they finally have enough money to buy the ranch and Lennie will be able to tend to his rabbits peacefully. George keeps talking on about this until he pulls the trigger and kills Lennie to give him a quick happy and painless death.
