  • In New Mexico there were two types of Ranching, sheep ranching and cattle ranching. People were given free land being able to do whatever they wanted with it. This lands weren't the best, so the people had to make it better.
  • Harvey Houses

  • The Santa Fe railroads were the first built railroads in New Mexico.The railroads had connected to many parts of New Mexico from the West and the nation.
  • Tourism 
  • Mining was increased with more and more miners coming in. Silver mining had increased throughout the years also.Miners had also started to mine for Turquoise, Copper, and coal.
  • Wild West 
  •  Harvey Houses were hotels and restaurants in New Mexico built named by Fred Harvey. Harvey Houses were attended by Harvey girls.Tourists would always come to visit these houses. Harvey Houses were a key part of Santa Fe railroad success. 
  • Tourism was big in New Mexico in business. During these times the railroads had brought large amounts  of people.These people were called tourists and came to New Mexico to study the culture.
  • This is the town of New Mexico 
  • The Wild West was filled with outlaws, guns, crimes and violence.Life was often dangerous in this territory.Many men had came to steal cattle, gold, and silver from ranchers and miners.
