"true --nervous --very, very dreadfully nervous I had been and am; but why will you say that I am mad," the man said as himself as he planed to kill an old-man. He wanted to do it because the old-man's eye frightens him.
He describes the old=man's eye saying: "He had the eye of a vulture --a pale blue eye, with a film over it. Whenever it fell upon me, my blood ran cold; and so by degrees"
He came in every night for a week while the old-man was sleeping, he would shine a light on his eye to open it, so he can destroy it, but the eye didn't open
On the 8th day, he was going a bit too slow, so he chuckled at himself, which made the old-man wake up. They sat there in silence in the pitch black room.
The killerheard the old man's thumping heart, he paniced, fearing the neighbors hearing it, so threw the man out of his bed and put the bed on him.The old man shrieked then died The killer disassembled the man's body and hid it under the floor.
He got cocky and sat where he hid the body. They all chatted and laughed. Then the killer started hearing the old man’s heart. He panicked as he tried to hide the noise.”Oh God! What could I do? I foamed--I raved”
