Storyboard Text

  • The sons of liberty protested British authority and held power in the colonial regions.
  • The Committee of the Correspondence was a group of delegates that represented their colonies, they came together to discuss power, politics and the British.
  • They should never impose taxes without our consent!
  • We can't allow the British to charge us for anything!
  • Maybe we could terrorize the stamp acts and restore colonial power.
  • What should we do men?
  • Well I was thinking I could tax them heavily on imported goods such as lead paint, paper and tea! Then we could let the failing East India export their tea without having to pay any navigation taxes!
  • The Townshend duties allowed England to create new taxes on lead paint, paper, and tea. The  tea acts were  later enacted by the British East India company that allowed them to export tea without paying any navigation taxes.
  • Yeah, "Champagne Charlie?"
  • How are you going to get these colonists under control?
  • We will not stand for this!
  • The Boston tea party involved a group of company men who boarded three British East India Company ships that were harboring tea. They seized the tea and threw it into the Harbor to protest Britain's choice to import tea to the colonies without paying any navigation taxes.
  • They should have to pay the tax like everyone else!
  • This is what we think of your tea!
  • Not the tea!
