Storyboard Text

  • Scout (Jean Louise) Finch
  • "I told you, Jem. I told you! Why did you think it was a good idea playing this game?"
  • "Nothin' sir!"
  • "What are you doing Jem? Give me those scissors!"
  • Atticus Finch
  • "Nothin' sir!"
  • "What are you doing Jem? Give me those scissors!"
  • "I was just reading for one minute, to only see Jem cutting some newspaper."
  • Charles Baker Harris (Dill)
  • What are you doing Jem? Give me those scissors!
  • "Nothin' sir!"
  • "This game was fun while it lasted, though we didn't get to the good part, the stabbing."
  • One day we were so busily playing Chapter XXV, Book II of One Man's Family, we did not see Atticus standing on the sidewalk looking at us, slapping a rolled magazine against his knee....Jem's face reddened as tomato in the sun.
  • After a long day of work, I hit the stash of magazines and took out the daily. As I sat out front of the porch, I noticed Jem, Charles, and Scout at the backyard. I've noticed the newspaper in Jem's hand with scissors. What the hell are they doin'? I thought...I was frustrated with the "noting sir" answer.
  • We were just mindin' our on business, playing the Boo Radley game as we were doing the scene with the scissors. That's when Mr. Finch came over and noticed Jem was cuttin' paper...after Mr. Finch left, Jem left the newspaper and walked to the front porch as Scout and I follow him.
