Storyboard Text

  • When Agamemnon refuses and threatens to return the girl to her father, Apollo is offended and casts a pestilence upon them.
  • THE ILIAD BY: HOMER
  • To please Apollo and put a stop to the plague, Achilles forces Agamemnon to return Chryseis. However, when Agamemnon reluctantly agrees to return her, he replaces her with Briseis, Achilles own war-prize concubine.

  • AGAMEMNON
  • Okay but instead I will replace her with Briseis, your war-prize concubine.
  • ACHILLES
  • Bring Chryseis back!
  • In a single duel over Helen, Paris and Menelaus fight a battle. Menelaus has prevailed.
  • PARIS
  • You can't have Helen!
  • MENELAUS
  • Patroclus, Achilles' friend and lover, is given a task of dressing in Achilles' armor and leading the Myrmidons in repelling the Trojans.

  • Hector encounters the disguised Patroclus and, mistaking him for Achilles, fights and kills him (again with Apollo's assistance).
