Im on vacation in Oregon near the bottom of Mt. Hood.Tomorrow my family and I will go hiking.
If we hike the base of the mountain, it will be a distance of 5 miles in total.
If we plan to hike to the summit on the west side of the mountain, It will be a distance of 12 miles.
If my family and I decide to hike down the east side of the mountain, from the summit, how many mikes will it take
A = 12 miles
Mount Hood
B = 5 miles
C = X miles
12² + 5² = C²144 + 25 = C²169 = C²√ 169 = C²13 = C
To find out how many miles it will take to hike down the east side of the mountain, I need to use the Pythagorean theorem.
It Will Take 13 Miles!!!!
