Mary needs a gift for Bob, but she doesn't know what to get him, and she doesn't have the money. Mary loves her shoes so much, almost as much as Bob loves his watch. But Bob's watch is breaking, or at least the wrist band part of it. That's what I'll get him, a new wrist strap for his watch. The only problem is that I don't have any money. This thought encouraged Mary to go outside and get some money
Mary rushed to a store having the greatest idea she has ever had.She might regret it later, but for now, it is great.
When Mary got there, she talked to the manager, asking to sell something for money, but not knowing what to sell. The manager then replied," How about those great shoes you got there?" Mary had to think about that for a moment, but then, after a long pause, she agreed. She got 60 dollars, that should be plenty for a gift for Bob. And at that same store, Mary got a beautiful silver and gold strap for Bob's watch.
Mary and Bob got home at the same time, both so excited to give each other their gifts. But then Bob noticed that Mary was without her shoes, and Mary saw that Bob did not have his watch.
Bob asks Mary to open her present, and Mary says the same thing to Bob. Mary is so surprised to see a beautiful shoe lace, but then she tells Bob she sold the shoes to get him his present. Then Bob opens his present, and is very surprised to see a wrist strap for a watch. But then Bob tells Mary that he sold the watch to get her the laces.
"It's okay Mary," Bob said after a long silence," we can get you some nice shoes, and me a nice new watch. But then Mary says, "Let us just lay her and relax, and try to have a good night, we don't need to stress about this for a little bit, jus relax."
