  • Major events of the battle.
  • During the Battle of Red River, settlers/soldiers hoped to destroy the Confederate completely. They also hope to capture the Confederate headquarters in Shreveport, Louisiana. 
  • Major events of the battle.
  • The Native Americans hoped that they could make the white settlers stop hunting their buffalo. If the Native Americans stopped the settlers, that would give the Native Americans their homes, clothes, food, etc back. 
  • How did the battle end for the soldiers/settlers?
  • A major event during the battle that happened was that the Red River Campaign or Red River Expedition consisted of a variety of different battles. Soldiers fought along the Red River in Louisiana during the American Civil War. 
  • How did the battle end for the Native Americans?
  • Another major event that happened was the attack on the Adobe Walls. The Native Americans helped by serving as catalysts for the Union. 
  • The battle resulted in a victory. The settlers defeated the Natives and stripped the Natives ability to move through the buffalo plains freely.  
  • The Native Americans were crushed by the settlers/ soldiers. The white men took their buffalo privileges away from them. Their free walks through buffalo country would not be allowed anymore. 
  • Bye, Beautiful Buffalo!
