During the Battle of Red River, settlers/soldiers hoped to destroy the Confederate completely. They also hope to capture the Confederate headquarters in Shreveport, Louisiana.

The battle resulted in a victory. The settlers defeated the Natives and stripped the Natives ability to move through the buffalo plains freely.
The Native Americans were crushed by the settlers/ soldiers. The white men took their buffalo privileges away from them. Their free walks through buffalo country would not be allowed anymore.
