  • A: Why is this town so crowded? The last time I came to buy bread, this was like a ghost town.  
  • B: To answer your question random stranger, the economy have gotten a lot stronger, there is less war and death. Life is wonderful!
  • Late 17th century 
  • B: Elizabeth, you are out of luck today. The bread has been selling like hotcakes! 
  • A: Hello, do you have any bread today? 
  • With the population growth, there is not enough food. Only if there were different methods to produce more harvest.
  • 18th Century: approx. early-1700s
  • A: We previously had the 3 crop rotation, but that did not work since one of the fields was fallow. What if we had 4 fields: wheat (fall), oats (winter), clover (spring), and turnips (summer).
  • B: Mr. Charles Townshend what a wonderful idea. We do not have to waste 1/3 of the land.
  • C:Too bad. The main purpose of agricultural is to meet the demand.
  • A: The Enclosure Acts is such a good idea! Not only can landowner increase the size of their farm property and wealth, but it also led to better productivity of land and labor.  
  • B: But for small farmers, we can't make a living from our tiny plot of land. WE WANT OUR RIGHTS!
  • Mid/Late 1700s
  • Come on in! We have all you need, wheat, fruits, meat, bread, etc. 
  • Can I buy a loaf of bread?
