  • What did we even do to deserve to get  slugs from the KKK.
  • Why can't I go an actual bathroom, I did nothing wrong. 
  • She can't go in here, this is an all white facility.
  • I thought I had the right to vote. Your taking away from my Civil Rights!
  • Did you pay your tax and pass your test
  • VOTE HERE
  • I'm a Freedmen. When the Ku Klux Klan ligths the cross there would be a lynching.  We had to take prosecution from most whites. they treated us like we're still slaves. The states even passed the Black Codes law that would restrict us of our freedom.  
  • Blacks had to go out behind buildings when there was a perfectly good bathroom inside. Segregation was mainly becuse of Jim Corw Laws. In 1964, President Lyndon B. Johnson passed the Civil Rights Act ending Discrimination in facilites and Jim Crow Laws. This started during Reconstruction when slavery was abolished.
  • Poll Taxes and Literacy Tests were enforced to try to prevent Freedmen from voting since they were uneducated. When they did paid the tax and passed the test the Grandfather Clause denyied them of voting. The Voting Rights Act of 1965 eliminated many of the barriers that black voters in the South encountered
