The metamorphic rock starts out as solid in the volcano and then melts into magma while still in the volcano.
once the magma then exits the volcano it cools and hardens and turns into extrusive Igneous rocks.
The igneous rocks then get weathered through rain and eroded down through methods such as biological erosion into sediments which are then deposed into the earth.
Over time, the sediments will eventually compact together under the surface and form a sedimentary rock.
After these sedimentary rocks go through extreme heat and pressure while underground they will for another metamorphic rock and the cycle will restart
