  • Homesteading in the 1892, are people that are granted land by the Homestead Act, if they live on that land for 5 years, the land is granted theirs for free. They have to learn to get food by ranching, hunting, etc.
  • Harvey Houses
  • The Harvey Girls
  • Railroads didn't reach New Mexico until the 1880's. Until then the ranchers had to find a way to get their cattle to markets at forts, reservations, and towns. But then railroads came and made a huge impact, allowing supplies, people, etc. to travel a lot faster.
  • Tourism
  • This is New Mexico's Railroads....
  • A boom town is a town that is bombarded with a ton of people because, of on finding that is there that they want. These towns that get more people are mainly because, of a finding in mining.
  • Wildwest
  • The Harvey Houses were, things such as, hotels, restaurants, and many other hospitality businesses.
  • Tourism in New Mexico, was a very big business back then. The railroads brought many visitors. The more visitors came the more money is being used on tickets, food, lodging, and souvenirs.
  •  The wild west was, full of outlaws, guns, crime, and violence. But, the majority of citizens were good and law-abiding citizens.
