Storyboard Text

  • Demeter, the goddess of Harvest, and her daughter Persephone loved to spend time outside. Whenever they were together, the flowers bloomed and the trees grew tall.
  • Hades, the god of the underworld, was a gloomy guy, and he decided to go on for a walk to try and cheer himself up.  His three-headed dog came along.
  • While Hades was walking his dog, he spotted Demeter and Persephone - he instantly fell in love with Persephone.
  • Hades fell so in love, that he kidnapped Persephone and took her to the Underworld.  She refused to eat for fear that she would have to stay, but she was soooo hungry!  She ate 6 pomegranate seeds.
  • Demeter, being the goddess of Harvest, was so upset that she killed all of the plants and crops.  A deal was made.  Persephone would be Hades wife for 6 months of the year - 1 month for every seed she ate.
  • The other 6 months of the year, Persephone is able to be with her mother.  Demeter's joy brings life and spring back to the earth, and the plants a flowers grow tall again.
