we have an advanced number system and we made up the term zero!
Islamic culture and ideas spread so quickly because of their location. The capitol was Baghdad, it is located at the crossroads of two trade routes. Their ideas could travel with merchants and traders on the silk road. Another reason it spread so fast was through conquest.

Art in Islamic culture took many forms but the most valued was calligraphy. Calligraphy is a decorative writing system that is used in books, buildings, and even textiles. Science and Technology
Though Muslim mathematicians didn't invent the concept of 0 (Indians did) they played a big part in spreading it. They also gave a name to it, word zero comes from a Muslim word that means empty. Zero helps us today because we can use it as a placeholder or to show the difference between 1 and 10. Islamic mathematician al-Khwarizmi's math books were spread into Europe and showed the Europeans the Arabic number system (also based of India's) this system was much simpler than systems used previously so they adopted it.
The Muslims got many of their medicine ideas from the Greeks and Indians but they revolutionized medical care. They had multiple hospitals that were open to the public. They also had caravans that helped people in other areas, these were the early form of today's ambulances. A Muslim doctor al-Razi, discovered that diseases were caused by bacteria and as a result they had separate wards for contagious people in hospital.
The Qur'an says Have they not looked at the camels—how they are created? And at the sky—how it is raised up?
The Muslims became very interested in learning because the Qua'ran encourages finding out how things worked . They mainly focused on zoology and astronomy. They used astronomy to find where Mecca was more accurately (when they pray they have to face Mecca). The Muslims created wells as a way to make the most of their hot dry land, they also restored old irrigation systems to make them more efficient. Some Muslim astronomers realized that the Earth rotated and they fixed models of the Earth made by Romans. Many of their ideas about astronomy were correct and are still used today.
