After weeks of sailing, John Smith and his crew landed in Virginia, whwre he met Cheif Powhatan of the Powhatan people. Powhatan seemed friendly at first, but little did John know...
One night, Powhatan and his army snuck into John and his crew's campsite. They stole their food and supplies as well as destroying their tents. John decided that him and his fellow colonizers needed permanent safety, so he began buildin a fort.
With the help of his crew, John built a sturdy fort with triangular walls and armed towers in case of attack. They called it fort jamestown.
While looking for food by the bay, John was captured by a Powahatan man and brought to the cheif to be scentenced.
Chief Powhatan was about to put John in jail for the rest of his life, but Powhatan's daughter Pocahontas took a liking to John and convinced him to set him free.
When John returned to Jamestown, he was appalled to find everyone sick from drinking the poisonous water in the bay, or starvation.
