- "He's brow an' white jus' like I wanted."
- Lennie is in the barn enjoying his new dog that George got him. He can't bring the dog inside since George won't let him.
- Candy's dog was getting old so they convinced him that the dog needed to be put down for his own good.
- "That dog ain't good to himself. I wisht somebody'd shoot me if i got old an' a cripple."
- Curley's wife is missing and he's trying to find her and he thinks that she is cheating on him, they tell curley that she went somewhere and that there is also someone missing as well so Curley's going to try and see if she's cheating on him or not. He is also very anxious and angry since he's making a fool out of himself.
- "she can't keep away from guys. An' Curley's pants is just crawlin' with ants"
- "What the hell you laughin' at?"
- Curley entered the room thinking Lennie was laughing at him, but in reality he was smiling at the thought of his future and Curlet just happen to see him at that moment. Curley then tries to pick a fight with Lennie but loses and gets his hand broken. In order for no one to get introuble he says that he got his hand stuck in amachine.
