Storyboard Text

  • First,  Washington and his troops were camping out across the Delaware River , from where the British were located.
  • Then, the army went across the Delaware on Christmas night to make surprise attack on the Hessians.
  • Next, Washington and his army captured most of the Hessians as prisoners.
  •  After that, George Washington left a fire burning so that Cornwallis would think that the Americans were still at their camp, but they actually snuck into the British camp so that they could make a surprise attack at the British men that were marching towards Princeton.
  • Soon after, the Continental Army waited until the Redcoats started their journey to Princeton.
  • Finally , the Americans caught the British soldiers off guard and won the Battle of Trenton.
