  • "It is fruit cake weather!!"

  • The story starts on a early winter morning with Buddy, his dog and elderly cousin, called "My Friend." As tradition, My Friend says "It is fruit cake weather." They decided they will make a fruit cake, so they make plans of what they will need and then set out to gather the ingredients.
  • Climax
  • The two character do not have the best life, including that they struggle financially. This causes them to not be able to do everything they want to do all the time.
  • Falling Action
  • After a long couple of days of baking, they finally finish making 31 fruit cakes. My friend is very friendly with stranger so they end up selling all the fruit cakes.
  • Resolution
  • One night the two were celebrating for the up coming holiday, and they had some rum left over from the baking, so My Friend let Buddy have some. Later on, the other family members come in and yelled at My Friend for allowing Buddy to have the rum. She runs off crying and Buddy goes to comfort her.
  • "Hey, everything is okay."
  • They get a Christmas tree and decorate it with homemade ornaments, and make each other Christmas presents. Both make one another kites, as they do every year. After they give them to each other, they go outside and fly them together.
  • Buddy grows up and goes off to the military, My Friend stays at the same house. They write back an forth, but one day My Friends letters start to change. The dog passes away and in the end My friend passes on too. After Buddy hears this he looks in the sky for two kites flying towards Heaven together.
