Storyboard Text

  • I left to be a voyageur so I could get money for my family. I will be leaving behind my little sister and mother.
  • It is a rough week! I have bleeding blisters all over my hands, and sweat dripping down my neck. Most off the other men tease me, I'll fight through it.
  • The waves were crazy! My hands were full with bleeding blisters but I had to paddle at the same the same speed as the others. Water would get everywhere inside the boat. The waves were harsh and rough.
  • We are now back on water and crossing Lake Superior! we took on some rough water but we were still able to cross smoothly. Once it got dark, we found an island to stay for the night.
  • We have been traveling for many weeks now! When I first saw the trading post in distance I could see the big log building and the all the tents and tipies. Traders and voyageurs were at the trading post.
  • I am finally back home with my sister and mother. I have been thinking, and i have decided to sign on again next year. I want to stay with my family for a while before I leave again.
