Sir, thank you for meeting with me. I have a personal issue regarding childcare.
It is my pleasure to meet with you. What seems to be the problem?
I am a single parent, the child development center is full, and I have no alternatives for childcare. My boss is not happy because the lack of childcare is interfering with my military duties.
Are there any family members that can come and help with childcare? Who do you have on your care plan?
No sir, I don't have anyone designated on my care plan. I need childcare now to bridge the gap until my child can get in the child development center for routine childcare. I can't afford a babysitter.
Leaving children alone is child neglect, and is a serious offense. I'm glad you came to me about your situation before making any irrational decisions.
I heard that at this base and Air Force wide, childcare is lacking. Airmen are getting reported for leaving their children alone at home...
Is there anything that you can do sir to help with my current situation?
Let me talk with base officials to discuss options that will best fit the needs of your situation and our base population. I am sure you are not alone.
I sure hope he can help me with much needed childcare.
We need more options for childcare on base. I need to solicit for volunteers from within my unit to help provide temporary childcare.
