  • "Liberty cannot be preserved without general knowledge among the people."
  • "I think George Washington should lead this war. He's more experienced than most of them."
  • John Adams is heading in to the congress meeting.
  • If governments derive their just powers from the consent of the governed, that is final.
  • If all men are created equal, that is final. If they are endowed with inalienable rights, that is final.

  • Adams nominated George Washington to lead. He continues his speech.
