  • It's my land, I claimed it!
  • The Battle of Crecy 1346 (and early battles)
  • War Once Again (1415)
  • The English are here!
  • My father and his father walked into the throne room to find our king, King Philip V, and King Edward II of England disputing over land.
  • Joan of Arc (1429)
  • The saints spoke!
  • My grandfather participated in the war. Ultimately, facing defeat and he would die on the battleground.
  • Driving the English out of France (1451)
  • Victory to France!!!
  • After what was a long treaty, (and a while of the French chipping back what the English had won in earlier wars), King Henry V invaded France, meeting a stronger army. I was 4 at the time.

  • In Conclusion...
  • A peasant girl around my age came forward claiming to have been spoken to by the saints. She was destined to save France. After her victory in Orleans she was captured and burnt at the stake.
  • Joan's heroism has inspired many women and men to participate in war for their country. With this new refound nationalism we drove England out of France.
  • With the Hundred Years’ War the power had shifted from lords, to monarchs, to the common people. Nationalism had swept over both countries inspiring power in the commoners.
