I strolled into the “Moe’s Cafe”, expecting to see many people around me laughing and talking while eating food and drinking warm beverages. Instead, I saw a desolate room with trash and rotten food laying all over the floor.
I shivered as Blanche, the server, called me over. “Hello, welcome to Moe’s Cafe. What can I get for you?”, she said with an ear piercing voice, . “Umm, I need some time to think about it”, I responded, shaking from how horribly paranoid I was. My head was dizzy and my body was weak. I need to get out of here, I thought. This place is sketchy and I have a bad feeling about it.
I slowly started nearing the door, avoiding all of the disgusting waste on the nasty ground. As my hand was about to push the door open, I heard some whispering in the booth near me. “I’m going to rob a house tonight”, a deep and mysterious voice whispered.
“I’m going to go search for my family,” a high pitched female voice replied quietly. “Search for your family? Why?” the deep voice asked. “I found my birth certificate in one of the homes that we broke into. I think my family may live there”. “Hmm, you better be at the hideout by 10 though”. “I will”. “Wait, which house?”.
“The Bronzefield family’s house”. My heart sank. There was a recent burglary in my family’s house and my little sister went missing when she was 2 years old around 16 years ago.. The thing that shocked me the most is that my family’s surname is Bronzefield.
I took a post it out of my bag along with a black pen. I wrote my phone number and a small message to this mysterious woman. Slowly, I strolled to the booth and slyly put my post it on the table. The woman looked at me with a confused glare. I then dashed outside.
