I have adapted well to this weather. I have large stems that store water, I have thick waxy skin to reduce water loss, and my widespread root system can collect and store water for me to live!
Today it is snowing! But I have adapted to different weather well. I have needle shaped leaves that are tough and waxy to prevent water loss and store my water for the winter, and when it snows I have sloping branches to slide off the snow. I have bear cones instead of flowers and the reason I am so tall and this is because I hardly have any space to grow!? I have adapted well to being bunched together.
Today it is very windy where I am. That will cause some of my leaves to fall of, but that is ok because as it becomes colder my leaves fall off anyways. My leaves help me in a big way though because my big broad leaves help me capture a lot of sunlight for me to use. My thick bark helps protect me for the harsh winters that come. But before that, in Autumn my leaves fall of to help me minimize water loss.
