Hi! I'm Martha and I'm an Immigrant from Scandinavia .
The Scandinavian people have often visited North America before the 19th century. Our most common reasons for visiting were to follow our Faith and Religion, Our homes had experienced massive agricultural decline making it a lot harder to carry out our everyday tasks.
We had eventually come to have tens of thousands in America. Many of our people there had begin new lives and had owned property like farms and land areas in the North. We had even started our own Groups and Communities. Our journey being relatively easy with our simple trip from Scandinavia to the peers of the US.
As we had settled in we'd began to create common systems in the communities. All our Children had to Learn to read and write as we were new to America and had only brought our Native tongues. They learned quickly and advanced in literature.
During mid century is when Immigration to the US was most booming, our people arrived during this time in the masses. They had stayed in places like the Great Lakes, the Northern Great Planes and among Northern US cities.
Our jobs were mostly farmers however because of our prized speech and writing, some Scandinavian books were sold as Newspaper Subscription bonuses. We were also abolitionists to slavery and social activists.
